China Slams US Move to Blacklist Major Firms Over Alleged Military Links
The move, announced by the US Department of Defense, expands its so-called “Chinese Military Companies” list and includes additional major firms such as NIO.
In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Beijing “firmly opposes” the decision and urged Washington to stop using national security concerns as justification for restricting Chinese companies.
He said the United States was “overstretching the concept of national security” and accused it of discriminating against Chinese firms while undermining the principles of fair competition and market economics.
Lin further called on Washington to “immediately correct its mistaken practices,” warning that China would take necessary steps to defend the legitimate rights and interests of its companies.
The updated Pentagon list was released a day earlier and identifies companies the US says are linked to China’s military-civil fusion strategy.
